Sebastian Bach’s Drummer Fighting For His Life

Mark “Bam Bam” McConnell, who played with former Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach from 1997-2005, is fighting for his life. Reports say his liver and kidneys shut down and that there is swelling on his brain. Today, Bach issued the following statement via his Facebook page:

Everybody, please say a prayer. My friend and live drummer for years, also on ‘Bring ‘Em Bach Alive’, Mark Bam Bam McConnell is fighting for his life right now in hospital in Gainesville, Florida. Miracles can happen, though, so everyone have Bam Bam in your hearts and prayers please. He is an amazing drummer and lifelong friend. We love you, Bam Bam. You can kick this in the ass just like you play your drums!! Fight hard, buddy. We all wanna rock with you. We love ya, dude.

There have been no official statements released from Mark’s people, but a close friend of the family did say the following regarding what happened:

He is in Shands in Gainesville, FL. His wife Rikki has been keeping me posted. His liver and Kidneys shut down, had swelling on the brain, which caused partial brain damage, but on a high note, I spoke to Rikki earlier and she said he looks alot better today and he is a little more alert, maybe with everyones prayers, he can pull through. I believe in Miracles!! Luv Ya Bam Bam!!!

McConnell played in Bach’s touring band from 1997 through 2005, after the singer had parted ways with Skid Row in 1996. The drummer also played with the band Blackfoot from 2006 to 2007.
