For those who worship all things 60′s and 70′s era, the list of bands and songs to lose ourselves in seems endless. That being said, no true classic rock fan can call themselves that without taking the time to fondly remember Crosby, Stills, and Nash (aka Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young).
CSN took shape in 1968 and, comprising of Stephen Stills, David Crosby, and Graham Nash, all of which have had massive solo successes over the years and had been involved in other successful bands, prior to forming CSN. Neil Young joined in a short time later, changing the name to Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young, or simply, CSNY. Young has since departed and only makes scarce appearances with the band.
Recently, the band sat down with Charlie Rose and Erica Hill to discuss their long-spanning careers, their thoughts on the condition of today’s music industry, and to promote their new music. The segments are broken into four videos, which can all be viewed here.
CSN and CSNY, collectively, have released 8 studio albums and are set to release a live DVD, the first live video in more than two decades, on July 17th. Pre-orders are being taken here.
The following statement from the band’s official website says,
“Crosby, Stills, & Nash join forces for their first live performance video in over 2 decades! Filmed during their 2012 tour, CSN 2012 includes many of the trio’s classic hits, some new and unreleased songs, and a rare performance of “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes.” The disc also includes ‘A Conversation with David, Stephen and Graham,’ plus interviews with their band and crew. A must-have for any CSN fan.”
