Political activist and country music legend, Willie Nelson, has announced the return of the Railroad Revival Tour. “What is the RRT?”, one might ask. Here’s an excerpt from the tour website:
“Railroad Revival Tour is an experience that transcends typical music tours or festivals and glorifies the historical romance between music and trains under the setting of the great American landscape. This one-of-a-kind U.S. train tour travels town to town aboard 16 vintage, 1940′s railcars, setting up open air, pop-up concert venues in parks, fields and lots around the railroad tracks where they stop.”
The tour is set to take place during the month of October, kicking off in Duluth, Georgia. Nelson will be joined by Band of Horses, Jamey Johnson, and John C. Reilly & Friends. The group plans to make stops in Memphis, TN (10/22), Oklahoma City, OK (10/23), Old Town Spring, TX (10/24), Tempe, AZ (10/26), San Pedro, CA (10/27), Oakland, CA (10/28), and a show on 10/21 will be part of the bill, but the location has yet to be announced.
Early bird ticketing and packages will go on sale this Friday, 7/27/2012, at 10am CST. Click here, for tickets, but be sure to view the video trailer for the tour, below, before you do!
