You know, I really do love rocking out to balls to the wall hard rock, especially when I’m in a good mood, which I happened to be, when I came across the music of Custom.
Every time I get the chance to check out music from the Seattle music scene, I get pretty happy, as I believe Seattle houses some of music’s most underrated and highly talented artists, from multiple genres and various aspects of the music industry. Naturally, I was only too eager to see what Custom would bring to the table.
Custom is Jacque Hartless (Vocals), Corey Petro (Guitar), Kevin Hunter (Keyboard), Paul Yarnold (Bass), and Brandon Wilsey (Drums), a Seattle power group who’s played hundreds of live gigs, in and around Seattle. In fact, they’ll be playing CHAOSFEST 2 on Friday, August 31st and Saturday, September 1st.
What I liked about Custom, was their straight-forward approach to music and performance, no bells or whistles. Just straight up hard rock, and none of the glam that sometimes comes with it. An example of this can be seen in the following video.
Custom – M.L.B. – Performed at Club Motor
I listened to three other songs by this band (Let Me Go, My Addiction, & She Moves), all of which can be found on their EP. Each one, featured power vocals, signature guitar riffs, and hard-hitting drums. Add in the strong bass lines, and you have a cohesive rock band, worthy of the big arena.
For those who want music they can pump their fists to, music that will grab a hold of your psyche, that provides lyrics people can relate to, Custom is a pretty solid gamble.
